Portmerion is a festival like no other, in what must be the most stunning festival setting in the world. On its own peninsula in Snowdonia, this Italianate village of surreal architecture amid sub-tropical vegetation was a total surprise to Scilla. Amazing DJ’s, dancing on a parapet above the beach, riding in a BMW pick-up with Suggs (never draws breath) of Madness, and then getting to talk to a tentful of thoughtful people… AND get paid for doing it – well this has to be one of the great perks of this unpaid job!
