Addressing a large audience at the Vatican on International Womens Day 2017, Scilla described the benefits that other male dominated institutions have gained from valuing the skills and insights of women at the most senior levels. She expressed her sadness that the Catholic church is being left behind in this vital development of consciousness of the 21st century. At the conclusion of the Summit Scilla received the Women Sowers of Development Prize.
