Bradford in the north of England in the heat wave is quite a surprise. Hundreds of children having a brilliant time splashing in the Mirror Pool outside the City Hall. Scilla wished she could join them but instead gave three talks on 7 and 8 July as part of The Bradford Literature Festival. The first one was on her book, The Business Plan for Peace, and was at the same time as the England Football quarter final, so hardly a man in the audience! She then did her first ever talk on Kwan Yin, which attracted a unexpectedly big crowd and was a sheer joy, and finally she was part of a panel on the legacy of Nelson Mandela. In all it was a treat for Scilla to be back in the friendly city of Bradford where she completed her PhD.
